Hello! Welcome to Puddings and Biscakes, a little background…
In January 2020, I spent several days at the National Library of Ireland in Dublin studying some thousand+ pages of Irish and British 18th and 19th century culinary manuscripts (handwritten cookbooks).
As I turned the pages of these old cookbooks it was delightful to hear the sound of the old paper and to see the beautifully handwritten writing. The word pudding was frequently referenced as were the immense varieties of puddings. Equally fascinating to me was uncovering the word biscakes that appeared from time to time. These two words resonated with me, and seemed to naturally come together to form Puddings and Biscakes. This led to the creation of my collection of artwork capturing the recipes and the moments from bygone days.
Today this artwork is featured across a selection of papery and lifestyle products, complemented by a line of fine tea and experiences tied to food, heritage and history. Together, these form part of Puddings and Biscakes.
The portfolio of papery, lifestyle and tea goods is available for purchase via the Puddings and Biscakes shop; events and experiences are either offered throughout the year, online and in person and either produced on my own vein or in collaboration/upon request by cultural, community and private groups.
As the tea line is only available within New York at present, the collection is set to ship items within the state only. All other items ship across the US. If you are based outside of the US please contact me via email and can coordinate shipping.
